Many adoptive greyhounds come from unknown circumstances. Even if they are normally well-behaved greyhounds, most have a couple accidents in the house during the adjustment period and some also might chew furniture or other items left within reach. This is a very important reality with adopting. How do you feel about this?
Are you willing to house train a dog if necessary?
Where will the dog be kept during the day?
When you are away from home?
Are you established with a vet?
May we contact him/her for a reference?
May we have a personal reference (preferably someone who owns a dog)?
Racing Home Greyhound Adoption routinely arranges a home visit with all new adoptive homes. The goal is not to check for cleanliness or housekeeping, but to make sure that the home is or could be compatible with the lifestyle of a greyhound. The yard is checked to make sure it is securely fenced, the sleeping area for the greyhound is inspected, and toilet duties for the greyhound are discussed.
Are you willing to have a home visit prior to adopting?
All the information I have provided on this application is, to the best of my knowledge, true and complete. I understand that falsifying answers on this application, or at any other time during the approval process disqualifies me from adopting.
